Four Easy Steps to Cleaning Greener

We all want a clean home, of course. But, it is really important to choose the right green cleaning products for your home. After all, you don’t want to use harsh, harmful chemicals that will leave toxic odors and residues in your home for you and your family and pets to deal with. So, here are four simple guidelines to use when choosing green cleaning products for your castle (or, home, if you prefer to be modest!):

  1. Avoid products that contain chlorine and ammonia. Chlorine can compromise indoor air quality, and you definitely don’t want that for your home. Ammonia has a similar effect because it also turns into a gas; it is known to irritate the eyes, nose, throat, and can even cause death with too much exposure.
  2. Choose plant-based, biodegradable soaps and detergents.
  3. Go for all-purpose and surface cleaners that have plant-based solvents.
  4. Stay away from products that don’t disclose the ingredients on the product label (or even if you can’t pronounce the names of the ingredients they do list). You want to use products that you can trust!
